A familiar form from uncharted angles
Global sell-in of 2.5 million units | Winner Luxury Packaging Awards
Challenge
Limited editions for global consumer brands often rely on surface graphics applied to an existing product. While this approach allows variation, it rarely alters the physical relationship between the object and its environment.
For Absolut, whose brand history includes collaborations with artists and designers, the challenge was to create a limited edition that moved beyond surface decoration and instead explored how the bottle itself could become the medium for the idea.

Solution
The design reinterpreted the iconic Absolut bottle by cutting its rounded surface into a series of geometric facets, similar to the planes of a gemstone. These facets refract and reflect light in different directions, creating a dynamic visual effect that changes depending on the surrounding environment.
The concept connected the bottle’s physical structure to the experience of nightlife: moments that often unfold unpredictably and take unexpected turns.
The limited-edition bottle was launched globally in collaboration with Amsterdam Dance Event, placing the concept within a context associated with nightlife and club culture.
Outcome
The release introduced a structural reinterpretation of the Absolut bottle rather than a purely graphic variation. By altering the bottle’s surface geometry, the design created a product whose appearance changes through interaction with light and environment.
Successful worldwide sell-in of approximately 2.5 million units.
