Zound Industries / Vignette

Bringing three distinctive brands together under one roof

Challenge
For Zound Industries, the communication challenge was not about reporting performance, but about articulating identity. As a house of brands — including Marshall, Urbanears, and Adidas collaborations — the company operates across distinct cultural and aesthetic territories.

The difficulty lies in representation. A single film risks collapsing these brands into a homogenized narrative, while a purely fragmented approach would fail to communicate the coherence of the parent company.

The challenge was to construct a format that could hold both: a clear articulation of Zound Industries as a system, and space for each brand’s individual voice to exist without dilution.

Solution
The film is built around a vignette-based framework.

Rather than forcing all brands into a unified storyline, the structure operates as a modular sequence of film vignettes. Each vignette functions as a self-contained expression of a brand — capturing its tone, pace, and visual language — while adhering to an overarching cinematic system.

Zound Industries is positioned as the connective infrastructure between these expressions. The framework provides consistency in rhythm, transitions, and narrative progression, but does not impose a singular aesthetic.

This creates two interacting layers:
• a controlled structural layer that defines the film’s flow and coherence
• an expressive layer where each brand—Marshall, Urbanears, and Adidas—articulates its own identity through tailored content

The vignette system acts as both boundary and enabler, ensuring distinction without fragmentation.

Outcome
The resulting film communicates Zound Industries as a platform rather than a singular voice.

Each brand retains its integrity, appearing as a fully realized expression rather than a subsection of a corporate narrative. At the same time, the overarching structure makes the relationship between them legible — framing Zound Industries as the system that enables these varied outputs.

The film therefore mirrors the company’s operating model: a unified framework that supports multiple, distinct forms of expression.
