Brand direction in three steps, one hop, and a skip.

Every brand – whether decades old or just emerging – has timeless principles at its core. Uncovering them starts with discovery, followed by insight that clarifies direction, and ultimately creative expression that inspires engagement.

Discovery: the uncovering of the fundamental truths that make a brand impossible to ignore. Through research, interviews, workshops, and analysis – business strategy, audience, competitors, market position, and key data are explored.

Insight: transforming raw data into clear direction and purpose. It’s the moment where understanding sharpens and strategy takes aim by interpreting research findings, identifying patterns, uncovering key opportunities, defining strategic priorities, and often involving collaborative workshops.

Creative: is where insight takes shape – transforming strategy into outcomes people can see, feel, and act on. It’s about crafting narratives that matter and truly connect. In the context of a brand platform, this could mean sparking initiatives that move people from awareness to meaningful action.

Fueled by engagement. And coffee, lots of coffee.

Even the best method only works when there’s genuine shared commitment behind it. To support this, I use association-based techniques that keep discussions creative, focused, and productive while guiding teams toward real alignment. This not only strengthens outcomes but also helps navigate group dynamics that might otherwise derail progress. One practical example is a context-tailored board-game framework I developed and applied to curate a values workshop with more than 600 participants worldwide.
